I am a nationally certified and state licensed Pediatric Occupational Therapist, based in Martin County, FL. I am licensed by the Florida Department of Health and certified by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy. I have been a resident of Martin County, Florida since I was a child and have a passion for this community. I possess a Bachelors of Science in Family, Youth, and Community Sciences from the University of Florida. I went on to earn my Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Following my graduate studies, I worked within an outpatient pediatric clinic for 5 years, while leading the occupational therapy department.
I have experience working with children of all ages and abilities. Some of the diagnoses I am familiar with include: autism spectrum disorder, developmental delays, learning disorders, down syndrome, cerebral palsy, sensory processing disorder, fine motor delays, visual motor deficits, motor dyspraxia, traumatic brain injuries, tongue tie, and torticollis. I am especially passionate about Sensory Integration as the foundation for learning and motor development. I have completed various continuing education courses focused on all areas of sensory processing and motor skills. I have completed the Learning Without Tears program, focusing on the function of handwriting skills.
It is my goal to provide comprehensive occupational therapy services to children who struggle with independence due to various sensory integrative and developmental deficits. I prioritize a family and client-centered approach, and most importantly, promote having fun!
